Common questions
Clear before
we begin.
Who do you dispatch for?
Truck Peak Dispatch serves U.S. owner-operators and small carriers, with a focus on Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, Power Only, Box Truck, and Hotshot equipment.
Do I approve every load?
Yes. There is no forced dispatch. Nothing is booked without your clear approval.
What does 24/7 support cover?
Support is available around the clock for dispatch-related changes and issues on active loads, including broker communication and appointment coordination.
How is the dispatch fee calculated?
Your first successfully booked and dispatched load has no dispatch fee. After that, the fee is 5% of gross booked freight for each load we book and dispatch.
Do you guarantee loads, rates, or revenue?
No. Freight availability and rates change with equipment, lane, timing, season, broker requirements, and market conditions. We do not publish fabricated earnings claims or guarantee a specific result.
Can a new operating authority apply?
Yes. Broker qualification rules may limit available loads for newer authorities, so we review each operation and set realistic expectations before onboarding.
How does payment and broker communication work?
The broker or factoring company pays the carrier directly — Truck Peak is an independent dispatch service and does not take possession of carrier freight revenue. If you work with more than one dispatcher, responsibilities should be agreed in writing to avoid duplicate broker calls or conflicting bookings.
What paperwork do I need to get started?
Typically an active USDOT and operating authority (when required), a current certificate of insurance, a completed W-9 with carrier payment details, and a signed carrier-dispatch agreement with limited authorization.
Is there a contract?
Yes. Before we book any load, you sign a carrier-dispatch agreement with limited authorization. Review the terms before you sign and ask about anything that is unclear.
Do you handle detention, layover, and TONU?
We help document and request eligible accessorial charges under the signed rate confirmation. Approval and payment remain subject to the broker and load terms.
